Music and Celebration of God
“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” -John 4:23-24
At the very heart of Sunday Service at Tapestry is true worship of God. Our service includes a good mix of contemporary Christian music lead by Tapestry’s worship team.
Please read on to find out more about what it means to truly worship God…
Christian Worship – It’s More Than Music. Christian worship is often thought of as the music portion of a church service – people singing songs to God, heads back, eyes closed, and hands raised in the air as they sing. We can worship God in song any where, any time, whether alone or with fellow Christians. If our desire is to please the heart of God, it is worship, no matter where the location or how many are involved.
Music affects our emotions and the lyrics can swell our hearts, causing us to become lost in the experience. Christian praise and worship music is a great tool for helping us feel closer to God. Often people will emerge from a service saying, “The worship was wonderful today,” or “The sermon was great, but I was really moved by the worship.” You may be surprised to realize that the entire service is about worshipping God!
